After three years as President, Joko “Jokowi” Widodo feels as if his work is far from finished.
Jokowi talked about a number of achievements on his official Facebook account on Oct. 20, three years after he was inaugurated on Oct. 20, 2014.
The first achievement that Jokowi emphasized was related to infrastructure development.
The government has continued to boost infrastructure and increase the budget for it, from Rp 177 trillion in 2014 to Rp 401 trillion in 2017.
The government has completed the construction of seven state border posts at major crossings on the borders of neighboring countries Malaysia, Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste.
In addition, after three years as President, the length of toll roads in Indonesia has increased by 300 kilometers from 780 kilometers in 2014.
The government has built2,623 kilometers of national roads in various locations in the past three years, including border roads in Papua, Kalimantan and East Nusa Tenggara.
As of October 2017, 25,149 meters of bridges have been built.
The government also built new ports, such as Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta, Kuala Tanjung Port in North Sumatra and Makassar New Port in South Sulawesi, as well as small ports on various islands.
In three years, the government built seven new airports on islands and remote areas and improved 439 old airports.
The government also completed the construction of 33 reservoirs out of 49 planned reservoirs.
Jokowi said it was important to always directly inspectthe progress of infrastructure projects.
“I wanted to make sure all the planned government programs were properly implemented, control the running of national strategic projects, inspect the problems and findsolutions” said Jokowi.
In addition to infrastructure, Jokowi also attributed the achievements to social assistance given to communities.
As ofOctober 2017, the Indonesian Health Card has been receivedby 182 million people, while more than 8 million Indonesian Smart Cards have been distributed to school students.
Furthermore, in trying to meet land certification targets, Jokowi has distributed 137,035 pieces of land titles for people in 37 locations in 22 provinces.
However, Jokowi stressed that his work was far from complete.
“[After] three years as President of the Republic of Indonesia, our work is still far from complete. Our country is vast, so our target must also be huge so that we are strong competitively, standing upright and equal with other developed nations,” said Jokowi.
