Water supply operator PT PAM Lyonnaise Jaya ( Palyja ) is working together with state-owned electricity company PLN to do technical maintenance work at the Water Treatment Installation ( IPA ) 1 facility in Pejompongan, Central Jakarta.
This operation is set to take place on Friday from 10 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m. It will involve temporarily shutting down the production of clean water in local areas. This will have an effect on a number of areas Palyja serves. The flow of clean water from Palyja is expected to return to normal in phases starting on Saturday at 8 a.m.
Palyja is asking its customers fill up tubs and buckets with water in preparation of the upcoming water shortage.
The list of areas expected to be affected by reduced water supplies are as follows: Karang Anyar, Kartini, Mangga Dua Selatan, Gambir, Petojo Selatan, Kebon Sirih, Petamburan, Slipi, Kota Bambu, Jatipulo, Grogol, Mangga Dua Selatan, Petojo Utara, Duri Pulo, Selong, Rawa Barat, Petogogan, Melawai, Pancoran, Menteng Dalem, Tebet Barat, Tebet Timur, Kebon Baru and surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, the list of areas expected to have their water cut off are as follows: Karet Semanggi, Karet, Setiabudi, Karet Tengsin, Bendungan Hilir, Cikini, Menteng, Kebon Sirih, Kebon Kelapa, Maphar, Tangki, Taman Sari, Pasar Barudan, Petamburan, Jatipulo, Cideng, Kebon Melati, Penjaringan, Pekojan, Roa Malaka, Ancol, Pinangsia, Mangga Dua Selatan in the northern parts, Angke, Jembatan Lima, Tambora, Glodok, Keagungan, Tanah Sereal, Duri Utara, Krukut, Duri Selatan, Grogol and surrounding areas.
Palyja has also placed water tanks close to hospitals and houses of worship to channel clean water in case of potential emergency situations.
